মুকুটের শীর্ষে গোজা থাকে একটি ময়ূরের পালক।
অনেক মুকুটে মণিমুক্তাও খচিত থাকে।
চলাফেরার সময় গাড়ির জানালা সাধারণত খোলাই থাকে।
তুর্কী রমণীদের মাঝে চাদর দিয়ে মুখ ঢাকার কোন রেওয়াজ নেই।
বাজার ঘাটে তুর্কী রমনীরা স্বাধীন ভাবেই চলা ফেরা করে।
অনেক তুর্কী রমণী  ভেড়া বা দুধ বিক্রী করার জন্য নিজেই বাজারে আসেন।
বাজারে আসলে তুর্কী রমণীর সঙ্গে কয়েকজন গোলামও থাকে।
অনেক সময় গোলামদের সঙ্গে রমণীর স্বামীও হাজির থাকে।
তবে সেই স্বামীকে সাধারণ পোষাকে সহজে চেনা না ।
কারণ স্ত্রীর মতো আকর্ষণীয় পোষাক তার গায়ে থাকে না।
সাধারণ তুর্কী পূরুষেরা চামড়ার তৈরী জামা পরে।
মাথায় পরিধান করে পশু লোমের তৈরী টুপি নাম কুলা।
তুর্কীদের এলাকায় সফর করার সময় একটা বিষয় আমার কাছে খুব অবাক লেগেছে।
সেটা হলো তুর্কী নারীদের মান মর্যাদা।
তুর্কীদের সমাজে পূরুষের চেয়ে নারীদের মর্যদা বেশী।
কিছু উদাহরণ থেকে নারীদের মর্যদার বিষয়টি পরিষ্কার হবে।

ক্রিমিয়া থেকে আসার সময় আমির তুলুক তামুরের স্ত্রী সালতিয়াকে গাড়িতে দেখেছিলাম।
আমিরের স্ত্রী সালতিয়া আলাদা গাড়িতে যাচ্ছিলেন।
গাড়িটিকে সুন্দর নীল রঙের ঝালরে সাজানো হয়েছিল।
আমাদের গাড়িও আমিরের স্ত্রী গাড়ির সঙ্গে ছিল।
আমির পত্নীর গাড়ির জানালা খোলা ছিল।
আমি দেখেছি অপরূপ সাজে সজ্জিত অমিরের স্ত্রীর সামনে সুন্দর সুন্দর কাপড় পরা চারজন সুশ্রী কানিজ(দাসী) বসা ছিল।
এরা সবাই খাতুন সালতিয়ার খেদমতে নিয়োজিত ছিল।
আমিরের গাড়ির বহর এর আগেই রওয়ানা হয়েছিল।
কোন এক বিশ্রাম স্থলে আমিরের তাঁবুতে তাঁর খাতুনের গাড়ি থামতে দেখেছি ।
তাঁবুর কাছে এসে খাতুনের গাড়ী এসে থামলে তিনি গাড়ি থেকে নেমে আসলেন।
এ সময় তাঁর সঙ্গে আসা বিভিন্ন গাড়ি থেকে নেমে আসা ত্রিশ জন কানিজ ছুটে এসে খাতুনের পোষাকের আঁচল তুলে ধরে খাতুনের সঙ্গে সঙ্গে চলল।
খাতুন দৃপ্ত পায়ে এসে আমিরের সামনে এসে পৌঁছলে আমির সসম্মানে উঠে দাঁড়িয়ে তাঁকে সালাম জানালেন।
এরপর খাতুনের হাত ধরে তাঁকে নিজের পাশে বসালেন।
এ সময় খাতুনের সঙ্গে আসা কানিজরা চারপাশে দাড়িয়ে থাকল।

এ সময় তুর্কীদের প্রিয় পানীয় কুমিস নিয়ে আসা হলো।
খাতুন আমিরের পাশ থেকে উঠে দাঁড়ালেন।
খাদেমদের কাছ থেকে কুমিসের পাত্র নিয়ে একটি সুন্দর পেয়ালায় ঢাললেন।
তার পর দু’জানু জড়ো করে আমিরের সামনে বসে পেয়ালাটি তাঁর দিকে দু’হাতে বাড়িয়ে দিলেন।
আমিরও খুব সম্মানের সঙ্গে সেটি গ্রহণ করলেন।
ত্ররপর খাতুন আরেকটি পেয়ালায় কুমিস ঢেলে আমিরের ভাইয়ের হাতে দিলেন।

এবার আমিরের পালা।
তিনিও একটি পেয়ালায় কুমিস ঢেলে স্ত্রীর হাতে দিলেন।
এরপর সবাই এক সঙ্গে কুমিস পান করলেন।
পান পর্ব শেষে খাদেম একটি খুব সুন্দর পোশাক এনে আমিরের হাতে দিলেন।
আমির সেটি তাঁর স্ত্রীকে উপহার দিলেন।
খাতুন সুন্দর পোশাকটি নিয়ে  কানিজদের সঙ্গে নিজ তাঁবুতে ফিরে গেলেন।
গাড়িতে উঠার সময়ও কানিজরা খাতুনের পোশাকের ঝালর তুলে ধরে তাকে সম্মানে গাড়িতে উঠিয়ে দেয়।

মধ্যবিত্ত তুর্কীদের স্ত্রীরাও কম-বেশী এই ধরণের মান সম্মন ভোগ করেন।
এখানে সেখানে চলাফেরার জন্য তাঁরাও গাড়ি ব্যবহার করেন।
প্রায় মহিলারই দুই চার জন কানিজ থাকে।
কয়েকজন ব্যবসায়ীর স্ত্রীদের দেখেছি গাড়িতে উঠার সময় বা নামার সময় কানিজরা পোশাকের ঝালর তুলে ধরে তাকে গাড়ি থেকে নামতে সাহায্য করেছে।
